Mobile Building Technician (Temporary)

POSITION:                 Mobile Building Technician (Temporary)

 

REPORTING TO:       Facility Manager

 

LOCATION:               Vernon, B.C.  

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform the scheduled preventive maintenance and general maintenance on the mechanical/electrical systems, HVAC systems and life safety equipment.

  • Provide excellent customer service to tenants.

  • Monitor the environmental and protection systems for buildings.

  • Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety legislation, guidelines, standards, policies, procedures and practices.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 5 years’ experience working in a commercial building setting is required. Previous experience with preventative and corrective maintenance of commercial building is preferred.  Mechanical, electrical, or carpentry experience would be an asset. Journeyman Electrician would be an asset.

  • Mandatory 5th class Power Engineering Certificate with 4th class preferred.

  • Experience in Building Automation an asset.

  • Experience in large scale building operations and maintenance is preferred.

  • Ability to make effective technical decisions in emergency situations. Strong problem solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly motivated with a strong customer service focus.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Must be willing and able to work after hours and weekends as required and to be available for standby rotation to respond to after hour’s service requests.

  • Must have valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.

  • Ability to obtain CPIC security clearance is required.
